(SIOUX LOOKOUT, ON) - One Individual is facing multiple charges after a large quantity of suspected illicit drugs were located during an airport security screening.
On November 18, 2025, the Sioux Lookout detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was notified by security at the Sioux Lookout Airport they had located suspected illicit drugs on an individual attempting to board a flight to Big Trout Lake First Nation.
The investigation has resulted in the arrest of one individual and the seizure of suspected methamphetamine and buprenorphine.
Steven BEARDY, 40-years-old, of Sioux Lookout has been charged under the Controlled drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) with:
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - Methamphetamine
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - Opioid
The accused was held for bail and remanded to the Kenora District Jail. The accused is scheduled to appear in court on November 21, 2025.
