(DRYDEN, ON) - An investigation led by the Dryden Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), with assistance from members of the Dryden OPP detachment, has led to the arrest of a local resident who was wanted on a warrant for outstanding charges that stemmed from a drug trafficking investigation from earlier this summer.
On September 17, 2025, just before 7:00 pm, an individual who was wanted on a warrant for outstanding drug charges, was observed by members of the Dryden OPP in the area of Government Street and Myrtle Avenue, in the City of Dryden. Officers attempted to arrest the individual, who then fled from police on foot. Dryden officers engaged in a brief foot pursuit, and the individual was apprehended and arrested.
Wilene OOMBASH, 29-years-olds, has been arrested on the strength of a warrant for her outstanding charges under the Controlled drugs and Substances Act and the Criminal Code, including:
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - hydromorphone
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - methamphetamine
- Possession of a Schedule I substance - cocaine
- Possession of a Schedule I substance - fentanyl
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on September 18, 2025.
