DUFFERIN OPP IS REQUESTING THE PUBLICS ASSISTANCE IN IDENTIFYING PERSONS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE THEFT OF ROAD SIGNS

(DUFFERIN COUNTY) - Members of the Dufferin OPP Detachment are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying individuals responsible for stealing road signs throughout the Township of Amaranth.

Over the past week, Township staff have observed a disturbing increase in missing or damaged road signs, including stop signs. Removing or tampering with these signs is not only a criminal offence, but it also puts every road user at serious risk.

This isn’t a harmless prank. Stealing a road sign can be the difference between life and death. No sign is worth putting on your garage wall or cashing in for scrap metal. Have some respect for your community.

Let’s work together to stop this before someone gets seriously hurt.
