EXCESSIVE SPEED RESULTS IN SINGLE MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION AND CRIMINAL CHARGES


(BLUE MOUNTAIN, ON) - Members of the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) with assistance from The Blue Mountains Fire & Rescue and Grey County Paramedic Services attended a single motor vehicle collision for a driver who was travelling at more than twice the posted limit.

On June 8, 2025, just after 7:00 pm an officer was conducting radar enforcement when a black Ford Mustang was observed travelling at an extremely high rate of speed westbound on Highway 26 near Wards Road in the Town of The Blue Mountains. A traffic stop was attempted however, the driver fled. A short time later police were called to a single motor vehicle collision involving the same vehicle. One passenger was transported to Collingwood General & Marine Hospital with only minor injuries.

The driver, a 21-year-old female from Mississauga, was charged with:

  • Flight from peace officer
  • Dangerous operation
  • Drive motor vehicle - no licence
  • Speeding 1 - 49 km/h over posted limit

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound July 10, 2025, to answer to the charges.
