(Mississippi Mills, ON) - A Mississippi Mills Township resident has died from injuries sustained in a collision in Almonte, ON.

 Officers with the Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to the scene on Paterson Street in the Town of Almonte, at approximately 3:40 pm on Wednesday, June 25, 2025. A student of R Tait Mackenzie Public school was riding a bicycle and was involved in a collision with a school bus bus near another school.

Witnesses conducted life-saving measures at the scene, the rider was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries and was later pronounced deceased.

The victim has been identified as a 9-year-old boy from the area.

The investigation by the Lanark County OPP is continuing, with assistance from an OPP Collision Reconstructionist and members of the Technical Collision Investigation Team.
