(PRINCE EDWARD COUNTY, ON) - The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a fatal collision in the community of Carrying Place in Prince Edward County.

On Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at approximately 5:30 pm, members of the Prince Edward County Detachment of the OPP were dispatched to a collision between a sport utility vehicle (SUV) and a pedestrian on County Road 3, west of Weese Road.

As a result of the collision, the pedestrian, a 97-year-old from Prince Edward County, was pronounced deceased on scene. The driver of the SUV was not injured.

County Road 3 was closed between Weese Road and Old Orchard Road for several hours to allow for an OPP Technical Collision Investigation and Reconstruction. While the road has since re-opened, the investigation remains ongoing.
