(BARRIE, ON) - Members of the Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a fatal collision that occurred on Highway 400 northbound, near the Highway 11 split. 

On August 13, 2025, at approximately 7:15 am, officers responded to 911 call from a member of the public about a vehicle they observed on the northbound side of Highway 400, north of Duckworth Street, that was upside down. Officers attended and found one individual, a 29-year-old male from Barrie, deceased. To ensure no other individuals had exited or been thrown from the vehicle during the collision, OPP K9 was deployed to search the area and confirmed no additional occupants were present.

Partial lane closures are currently underway to repair damaged guardrail near the collision and to remove vehicle.
