(CLARENCE-ROCKLAND, ON) - One person has been killed in a single vehicle collision in the east end of Clarence-Rockland.
On Tuesday, August 26, 2025, just after 6:45 am, officers with the Russell County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded a report that a car had left County Road 17 and rolled over in the ditch.
The initial investigation found that the westbound car had crossed into the eastbound lane, struck the guardrail and then entered the ditch where it rolled over multiple times.
Passing motorists, including an off-duty EMS member, had stopped to pull the driver from the vehicle and begin life-saving measures. Despite those efforts, the 33-year-old male was pronounced deceased at the scene.
A postmortem examination will be conducted.
The investigation by the Russell County OPP is continuing, with assistance from OPP Technical Collision Investigators and other members of the OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) Team.
County Road 17 remains closed in the area to allow for the on-scene investigation.
