FLIGHT FROM POLICE LEADS TO IMPAIRED DRIVING CHARGES  

Kingston Police requested OPP assistance after driver fled in the City of Kingston

(LOYALIST TOWNSHIP, ON) - Lennox and Addington County members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged one person with impaired driving related charges following an incident that originated in the City of Kingston.

On Sunday December 28, 2025, shortly before 1:00 am, L&A County OPP members were advised by Kingston Police of a vehicle that had been operating dangerously and fled from an attempted traffic stop in the city. Police attended the owner’s residence and following an investigation, located the vehicle and the driver was arrested.

Adam MCGRATH, an 18-year-old from Amherstview, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired - alcohol
  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration 80 plus
  • Novice driver - BAC above zero

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on January 20, 2026. Their driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and their vehicle was impounded.
