(TOWNSHIP OF MINDEN HILLS, ON) - The Haliburton Highlands Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a three-vehicle collision on Highway 35 near Humphrey Road in the Township of Minden Hills.

On Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at approximately 5:20 pm, members of the Haliburton Highlands OPP Detachment responded to a serious collision involving three motor vehicles.  One driver and lone occupant of a vehicle was transported to a Toronto-area trauma center by Air ORNGE with life-threatening injuries. The driver and lone occupant of the second vehicle was transported by EMS Paramedics to a local hospital for minor injuries. The driver of the third vehicle and their passenger were not injured as a result of the collision.

The OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) team was called in to assist with the ongoing investigation. The highway was closed for several hours but has since been re-opened and cleared of debris.
