(NORTH KAWARTHA TOWNSHIP, ON) - Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and emergency crews attended the scene of a serious motor vehicle collision on Highway 28.

On Monday August 11, 2025, shortly after 5:00pm, the Peterborough County OPP received a call related to a two-vehicle head-on collision on Highway 28 near Jeff Road. The collision involved a red Jeep and a grey sport utility vehicle (SUV).

As a result of the collision, the driver of the grey SUV was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The driver of the red Jeep was transported by ORNGE Air to a Toronto area trauma centre.

Highway 28 remained closed for several hours while emergency crews dealt with the collision.

The investigation into the cause of the collision is ongoing.
