(KINGSTON, ON) - The Frontenac Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is currently on scene of a serious vehicle collision and fire on Highway 401 in Kingston.

Shortly before 3:00 am on Friday, September 12, 2025, members from the OPP together with other emergency services responded to a report of a collision involving a tractor trailer and pickup truck on the westbound lanes of Highway 401.

Life-threatening injuries have been reported.

Minor roadway repairs may be required prior to reopening.

Highway 401 westbound lanes will remain closed for several hours between Highway 32 in the Town of Gananoque and Montreal St. in the City of Kingston.
