(FRENCH RIVER, ON) - The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) had closed the highway in both directions, after a Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) rollover.

On Monday July 28, 2025, at approximately 7:20 pm, members from the Nipissing West OPP responded to a single CMV collision on Highway 64, French River.

No injuries were reported when a CMV veered towards the right shoulder of the highway to prevent a head-on collision with a vehicle traveling over the centre line into oncoming traffic, causing the CMV to rollover.

The OPP is seeking the public’s assistance in locating the vehicle that failed to remain and was described as a black Volkswagen Golf or possibly Jetta hatchback with two occupants.

The highway was closed in both directions for just over six hours, for the clean up and removal of the fully loaded CMV.
