(HOWICK TWP, ON) - The Huron Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating an incident that took place on Friday, September 12, 2025.   

On September 12, 2025, just before 9:00 pm, police were contacted to investigate threats made by an individual online. The threat involved a comment about conducting a high school shooting in Wellington County. Investigators were able to identify and locate the suspect who was arrested several hours later.

A 17-year-old young person from Howick Township has been charged with:

• Uttering Threats to Cause Bodily Harm or Death

The identity of the accused is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

The accused was processed and later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice - Goderich on October 2nd, 2025.
