HIGHWAY 17 CURRENTLY CLOSED DUE TO COLLISION
Highway 17 reopened both directions
(LAURENTIAN HILLS TWP., ON.) - The Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a a collision on highway #17 between Petawawa and Chalk River that forced the highway shut down in both directions.
A motorcyclist collided with a moose. The motorcyclist suffered serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital and Ornge airlifted the injured party to a local Ottawa hospital. The highway has now reopened in both directions.
