(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) - Members from the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) entered into an impaired driving investigation during a traffic stop.

On Monday September 01, 2025 at approximately 6:42 pm, officers responding to a call for service located a pick up truck on Woodville Road. The driver was arrested and charged with Criminal Code, Highway Traffic Act, Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act, and Cannabis Control Act.

Tyler Stuart, 35-year-old of Eldon Township, was charged with:

• Operation while Impaired - Alcohol and Drug
• Operation while Impaired - Blood Alcohol Concentration Over 80
• Drive vehicle with Cannabis Readily Available
• Operator a Motor Vehicle without Insurance
• Use Plate not Authorized for Vehicle
• Operate Unsafe Vehicle

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay at a later date. The drivers license was suspended for 90 days and the motor vehicle was impounded for 7 days.
