IMPAIRED DRIVER ARRESTED AT R.I.D.E. PROGRAM


(CENTRAL ELGIN, ON) - The Elgin Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Elgin Detachment, has charged an individual at a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E) program in Central Elgin.

On August 1, 2025, at approximately 3:16 am, police took driver into custody without incident.

As a result, Brett DYCK, 31-years-old of London is charged with the following:

  • Operation While Impaired - alcohol and drugs - 320.14(1)(a)
  • Operation While Impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 Plus) - 320.14(1)(b)

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in St. Thomas on September 16, 2025.
