(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) - Members from the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) entered into an impaired driving investigation after being alerted to a possible impaired driver in Verulam.

On Sunday July 13, 2025 at approximately 9:10 pm officers were notified of a possible impaired driver that had driven through Bobcaygeon causing concerns. Officers entered into an impaired driving investigation and the driver was arrested and charged with impaired driving related charges.

Emma Carter, 22-year-old of Verulam, was charged with:

• Operation while Impaired - Alcohol and drugs
• Operation while Impaired - Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay at a later date. The drivers license was suspended for 90 days.
