IMPAIRED DRIVER ARRESTED FOLLOWING TRAFFIC STOP IN BRANT COUNTY


(BRANT, ON) - On November 20, 2025, at approximately 9:47 pm, a member of the Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop after observing erratic driving behavior on Mount Pleasant Street in Brant County.

Police followed behind the vehicle and observed it weaving in its lane, crossing over the right fog line. Police initiated a traffic stop to check on the driver’s sobriety. While speaking to the driver, police noticed obvious signs of impairment police made a breath demand to the driver whereby she refused to give a breath sample. Brant County OPP placed the 35-year-old female driver under arrest for Impaired Operation and refusal to comply with breath demand. Brant County OPP subsequently released the female with a Brantford court date of Dec 4th, a 90-day licence suspension and a 7-day vehicle impoundment.

  • Operation While Impaired - Blood Alcohol Concentration Over 80

The OPP continues to prioritize road safety through proactive enforcement and public education. Impaired driving-whether by alcohol or drugs-remains one of the leading causes of serious collisions and fatalities on Ontario roadways.
