IMPAIRED DRIVER CAUGHT IN RIDE CHECK
(HURON EAST, ON) - Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Huron East resident with an impaired driving offence following a traffic stop in the Municipality of Huron East on December 06, 2025.
Just before 1:30 pm, on Saturday, December 06, 2025, Huron County OPP officers were conducting Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E.) checks on London Road, just South of Clinton. Officers spoke to a vehicle driver who was subsequently arrested for impaired operation. The accused was transported to the Huron OPP detachment in Clinton where they provided breath samples before a qualified Intoxilyzer Breath Technician. Breath samples were provided to police which resulted in readings over the legal limit.

The vehicle involved was towed and impounded for seven days, and the accused’ driver’s license was suspended for a period of 90 days.
The accused was processed and later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice - Goderich on January 12, 2026.
