(NIPIGON, ON)   - Officers from the Nipigon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic complaint of an impaired driver in the town of Nipigon, ON

On October 2, 2025, at approximately 6:00 pm, officers responded to a report of a vehicle swerving all over the road near the Nipigon river bridge, officers located the vehicle at a local gas station. The driver was subsequently arrested for impaired operation and transported to the detachment for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, Kit MCCABE, 65, of Patience Township, Ontario, has been charged with the following Criminal Code offence:

• Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Nipigon.
