IMPAIRED DRIVER CHARGED AT RIDE CHECKPOINT


(GRAND BEND, ON) - The Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested an impaired driver at a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) checkpoint.

On July 5, 2025, shortly after 10:00 pm, members of the Lambton County OPP conducted a traffic stop to check sobriety of the driver at a RIDE checkpoint Main Street West, Grand Bend.

As a result of the investigation, Prabjhot SINGH, 25-year-old of Brampton, was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with the following offences:

  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on August 6, 2025, in the City of Sarnia.
