IMPAIRED DRIVER LOCATED PARKED ASLEEP BEHIND THE WHEEL
(NEW TECUMSETH, ON) - Members of the Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged one individual with impaired operation following emergency services locating an individual asleep behind the wheel.
On Tuesday, January 13, 2026, shortly after 5:00 pm, officers from the Nottawasaga OPP responded to a call from emergency services reporting that a suspected impaired driver had been found asleep in the driver’s seat of a vehicle parked in a local parking lot. The driver was woken up, conscious and breathing.
As a result of the investigation, officers arrested the driver for impaired operation.
The driver, Andrea MURRAY, a 44-year-old, of New Tecumseth, has been charged with:
- Operation while impaired - blood drug concentration (80 plus)
- Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
The accused party was released on a Form 10 Undertaking and is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Bradford to answer to the charges.
