IMPAIRED DRIVING CHARGE LAID FOLLOWING SUSPICIOUS PERSON INVESTIGATION


(COBALT, ON) - A call to police regarding suspicious activity in Cobalt has led to the arrest of an individual for impaired driving.

On Friday, November 21, 2025, at approximately 1:00 pm, members of the Temiskaming Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a suspicious person and vehicle on North Pump House Road in the Town of Cobalt.

The officers’ investigation resulted in the arrest of the driver. The individual was subsequently taken to the OPP Detachment for further testing.

As a result, Christopher COE, 41 years of age, of Temiskaming Shores, has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired - drugs

The vehicle was impounded, and the accused’s driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days. The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Haileybury on December 9, 2025.
