(BRANT, ON) - On July 11, 2025, at approximately 7:34 pm, members of the Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single-vehicle collision on King Edward Street in Paris, within the County of Brant.

As a result of the investigation, one individual was taken into custody and transported to hospital for assessment.

Police have charged Darren MITCHELL, 37 years old, of Paris, with the following offences under the Criminal Code:

• Operation While Impaired - Alcohol
• Dangerous Operation
• Failure or Refusal to Comply with Demand

The accused was also charged under the Liquor Licence and Control Act with:

• Driving a Motor Vehicle with Open Container of Liquor

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brantford on July 25, 2025.
