IMPAIRED DRIVING CHARGES ON HIGHWAY 17

(EAST FERRIS, ON) - A driver has been charged with impaired driving following a three-vehicle collision on Highway 17 near Corbeil.

On Friday December 5, 2025, at approximately 6:00 pm, the North Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Emergency Medical Services responded to a report of a a report of a collision involving three vehicles on Highway 17 in East Ferris.

Police determined that a westbound vehicle struck two eastbound vehicles. After speaking with the driver of the westbound vehicle, officers suspected alcohol consumption. The driver was arrested and transported to the North Bay Police Service for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, Steven CORRIVEAU, 40 years-of-age of Petawawa, has been charged with operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in North Bay on January 20, 2026. Additionally, they received a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
