INCREASED POLICE PRESCNECE AND REQUEST FOR INFORMATION FROM THE PUBLIC
(ESSA TOWNSHIP, ON) - Officers from the Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating an incident that occurred on the 9th Line of Essa Township (UTOPIA) near Pineview Trail.
On January 6, 2026, shortly after 12:00 pm, officers were dispatched to a residence on the 9th Line of Essa Township for a home invasion in progress. Suspects fled the scene prior to police arrival.
The preliminary investigation revealed that two unknown suspects believed to both be male, attended the address and forced entry into the house, and searching through the house prior to fleeing.
The two male suspects that entered the house are described as:
Between 5’5 - 5’10 Feet tall wearing all black with ski mask and goggles.
One male’s black jacket had a fur hood.
The suspects possibly entered a grey or black sedan used to flee the scene. The vehicle in the photo is a vehicle of interest.
Police have no further description for the male suspects at this time and are encouraging residents to review their camera footage or dash cam for any suspicious activity that may be helpful in this investigation between 11:30 am - 12:30 pm, on Tuesday January 6, 2026.
