(LANARK HIGHLANDS TWP, ON) - The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid charges following an intimate partner violence investigation.

Lanark County OPP officers responded to an incident involving threats on Monday, August 4, 2025, just after 12:30 am Officers attended a remote camping area in Lanark Highlands Township and spoke with all parties involved. The investigation resulted in the arrest of a 43-year-old man from Toronto.

The male has been charged with:

• Assault with a weapon
• Uttering threats - seven counts

The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on Thursday, August 7, 2025.

The name of the accused will not be released to protect the identity of the victim.
