(PERTH, ON) - The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid charges following an intimate partner violence investigation.

Lanark County OPP officers responded to an address on Saturday, August 16, 2025, just after 7:00 am

As a result of investigation, police charged a 70-year-old from Perth with the following offences:

• Forcible confinement
• Assault
• Intimidation

The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on Tuesday, August 19, 2025.

The name of the accused will not be released to protect the identity of the victim.
