(NORTH ALGONA-WILBERFORCE TWP, ON) - Members of the Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment of Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid several Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) related Criminal Code (CC) charges against an area resident. 

In early December 2025 UOV OPP officers began investigating an IPV-related incident in North Algona-Wilberforce (NAW) Township. The investigation included recent and historical IPV events at a residence in NAW. 

As a result of this investigation a 40-year-old from NAW was arrested on December 13, 2025, and charged with the following CC offences:

  • Assault - spousal - two counts
  • Mischief under $5000 - three counts
  • Theft under $5000
  • Uttering threats to damage property
  • Possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order - two counts
  • Fail to comply with probation order - two counts

The accused was held for a bail hearing and subsequently released on December 19, 2025, to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on a future date.
