(CENTRAL ELGIN, ON) - Elgin Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged one person with multiple criminal offences following an intimate partner dispute.
On Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at approximately 9:49 am, members of the Elgin OPP responded to a disturbance at an address in the Municipality of Central Elgin.
45-year-old of St. Thomas man has been charged under the Criminal Code with the following offences:
- Assault with a Weapon - Spousal (two times)
- Forcible Confinement - Spousal
- Assault - Spousal
- Operation while Impaired
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Cocaine, Controlled drugs and Substances Act (CDSA)
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Oxycodone (CDSA)
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Fentanyl (CDSA)
The accused was held in custody and appeared for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in St. Thomas on Wednesday, August 6, 2025.
The OPP will not release names to protect the identity of the victim(s).
