(CHATHAM-KENT, ON)  - Elgin Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged one person with multiple criminal offences following an intimate partner dispute.

On Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at approximately 5:20 am, members of the Elgin OPP responded to a disturbance in Wheatley, Municipality of Chatham-Kent.

39-year-old of Windsor Ontario has been charged under the Criminal Code with the following offences:

• Assault - Spousal
• Assault
• Domestic Mischief
• Uttering Threats - Cause death or Bodily Harm - Spousal
• Uttering Threats - Cause death or Bodily Harm (two times)

The accused was released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear in Ontario Court of Justice in Chatham on Tuesday, September 16, 2025.

The OPP will not release names to protect the identity of the victim(s).
