(BAYHAM, ON)  - Elgin Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged one person with criminal offences following an intimate partner dispute.

On Saturday, October 18, 2025, at approximately 12:50 am, members of the Elgin OPP responded to a disturbance at an address in the Municipality of Bayham.

An 18-year-old from Bayham has been charged under the Criminal Code with the following offences:

• Assault with a Weapon - Spousal
• Mischief over $5000

The accused was held in custody and appeared for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in St. Thomas on Saturday, October 18, 2025.

The OPP will not release names to protect the identity of the victim(s).
