(TEMISKAMING SHORES, ON) - An intimate partner violence incident has led to one person being arrested in Temiskaming Shores.

On Sunday, September 14, 2025, shortly after 3:30 am, officers from the Temiskaming Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a domestic disturbance at a residence on Whitewood Avenue in New Liskeard.

Police located a distressed individual with visible injuries. A youth was also present in the residence at the time of the incident.

As a result of the investigation, one person was arrested at the scene and transported to the detachment, where they were charged with the following offences:

• Assault
• Assault with a Weapon
• Mischief - two counts
• Breach of Probation

To protect the identity of the victim, the name of the accused will not be released.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Haileybury at a later date.

The OPP takes all incidents of intimate partner violence seriously. Anyone experiencing or witnessing such violence is encouraged to come forward and report it to police. Support and resources are available through local police services and community organizations.
