(ENGLEHART, ON) - One person is facing an assault charge following an investigation into intimate partner violence in the town of Englehart.

On Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at approximately 8:00 pm, the Temiskaming Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a disturbance at a residence located on Sixth Avenue in Englehart. Upon arrival, police determined that a person had been assaulted during a domestic dispute.

As a result of the investigation, a 45-year-old person from Englehart, was arrested and charged with one count of assault.

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Haileybury at a later date.

To protect the identity of the victim, the name of the accused will not be released.
