(MONTAGUE, TWP, ON) - The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid charges following an intimate partner violence investigation.

Lanark County OPP officers began an investigation of intimate partner violence on Thursday, August 28, 2025.

As a result of investigation, a 61-year-old man from Montague Township has been charged with:

• Assault causing bodily harm
• Assault - two counts
• Forcible confinement
• Mischief under $5000

The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on Wednesday, September 3, 2025.

The name of the accused will not be released to protect the identity of the victim.
