(FORT FRANCES OPP)  - The Fort Frances Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged an individual with sexual assault following an investigation.

On Friday, August 29, 2025, a victim attended the Fort Frances OPP detachment to report a sexual assault.

As a result of an investigation, a 73-year-old from Fort Frances is charged under the Criminal Code with the following:

• Sexual Assault, section 271

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Fort Frances on September 15, 2025.
