(VAL RITA - HARTY, ON) - The James Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a head-on collision involving a passenger vehicle and a commercial motor vehicle that occurred early Tuesday morning in Val Rita.

On Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at approximately 6:20 am, the James Bay OPP and Cochrane District Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded to a report of a serious collision on Highway 11. The driver of the passenger vehicle was transported to hospital by ambulance with non-life-altering injuries.

Highway 11 was closed in both directions for approximately five hours while emergency crews and investigators worked at the scene. The investigation remains ongoing.
