(KENORA, ON) - The Kenora Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged two individuals following reports of a break and enter in Keewatin, Ontario.
On October 7, 2025, at approximately 8:00 pm, members of the Kenora OPP detachment with the assistance of the Forensic Identification Services (FIS), and Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) were dispatched to a report of a break and enter to a residence in the area of Keewatin, Ontario. The complainant reported that an extensive number of items had been stolen from their garage. CCTV footage of the incident was provided.
Forensic evidence was seized and processed. Through the investigation, police were able to confirm the identity of the accused. Following the investigation, police were able to recover over $11,000 worth of fishing equipment.
As a result of the investigation Xavier Zacharie, 25-years-old of Keewatin, Ontario has been charged under the Criminal Code with:
- Theft Over $5,000 x3
- Mischief Under $5,000
- Trafficking in Stolen Goods over $5000
- Break and Enter
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order
The accused was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a future date.
As a result of the investigation Julie Piche, 51-years-old of Longbow Lake, Ontario has been charged under the Criminal Code with:
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
The accused was released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a future date.
