L&A COUNTY OPP CHARGE TWO WITH IMPAIRED DRIVING OVER HOLIDAY WEEKEND

Assault and utter threat charges also laid

(LENNOX AND ADDINGTON COUNTY, ON) - Lennox and Addington County members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged two people with impaired driving related charges over the weekend.

On Friday October 10, 2025, just after 7:00 pm, L&A County OPP members were called regarding an assault complaint in Loyalist Township. During the investigation the suspect returned to the location and was arrested.

Aleena ZYLSTRA, a 36-year-old from Kingston, was charged with:

  • Assault - two counts
  • Utter threats to cause death - five counts
  • Assault a peace officer - three counts
  • Resist peace officer
  • Failure or refusal to comply with demand

The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee for a bail hearing on October 14, 2025. Their driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days.

 On Sunday October 12, 2025, just before 5:00 p.m, L&A County OPP was called by a community member regarding a vehicle in the ditch on Bath Road, in Loyalist Township. Following an investigation, the driver was located nearby and arrested.

James KRAHN, a 51-year-old from Loyalist Township, was charged with:

  • Failure or refusal to comply with demand
  • Dangerous Driving
  • Breach of probation

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on November 4, 2025. Their driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days.
