(PETAWAWA, ON) - The Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has arrested and charged a Laurentian Valley Township resident with refusal and theft under following an investigation.         

On November 11, 2025, at approximately 1:00 pm, officers received a theft complaint from a business on Renfrew Street in the Town of Petawawa. A short time later police spoke to the individual.     

As a result of this incident 37-year-old Marc CHAPUT was charged with the following CC offences:

• Failure or refusal to comply with demand
• Theft under $5,000

The accused was released to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on December 8, 2025.  

The accused had their driver’s licence suspended for 90 days and their vehicle towed and impounded for seven days.
