(DRYDEN, ON) - A local resident is facing drug trafficking charges following an investigation led by the Dryden Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU).
On September 30, 2025, just after 1:30 pm, a traffic stop was conducted on Government Street in the City of Dryden. The investigation resulted in the arrest of a local resident and the seizure of suspected illicit drugs, including cocaine, fentanyl and hydromorphone, as well as Canadian currency and further evidence of drug trafficking.
John KING, 61-years-old, of Dryden, has been charged under the Controlled drugs and Substances Act and Criminal Code with the following offences:
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking - cocaine
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking - other drugs - (two counts)
- Possession of proceeds obtained by crime under $5000
- Fail to comply with probation order - (two counts)
The accused has been held in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Dryden on October 1, 2025.
