MANITOULIN OPP INVESTIGATING REPORTED THREAT AT LOCAL HIGH SCHOOL
(ESPANOLA, ON) - The Manitoulin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a potential threat involving a local high school, which prompted a temporary lockdown.
On Thursday, December 4, 2025, at approximately 1:30 pm, officers were dispatched to a local High School following a report of a possible threat. As a precaution, the high school and a nearby school initiated lockdown procedures. Police arrived promptly and conducted an investigation, determining that there was no immediate risk to public safety.
The lockdown was lifted at approximately 2:00 pm The incident remains under investigation, and updates will be provided as new information becomes available.
