MISCHIEF IN BARRY’S BAY UNDER INVESTIGATION
Multiple stop signs damaged
(MADAWASKA VALLEY TWP, ON) - The Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating after multiple stop signs were damaged in Barry’s Bay.
On June 17, 2025, the UOV OPP began investigating after a town official reported that 24 stop signs were either damaged, spray painted or removed at various locations in the town. The damage is believed to have occurred sometime during the overnight hours of June 15-16, 2025.
Damaging or defacing a stop sign is not only a danger to public safety, but also a criminal offence. All the affected stop signs have been replaced.
