(WEST ELGIN, ON) - The Elgin Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), St. Thomas Detachment has charged an individual following a mischief investigation.

On Saturday, August 16, 2025, at approximately 8:19 pm, members of the Elgin OPP were dispatched to a mischief investigation where there was damage to the complainant’s vehicle. While investigating, the accused assaulted a police officer.

As a result, Jericho BRASIL, 27-years-old from the Municipality of West Elgin was charged under the Criminal Code with:

• Mischief - destroys or damages property, and
• Assault a Peace Officer

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in St. Thomas on September 16, 2025.
