MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION INVESTIGATION RESULTS IN CHARGES
(MALAHIDE TWP, ON) - One person is charged following a single motor vehicle collision.
On Friday, December 12, 2025, at approximately 5:05 pm, members of the Elgin OPP responded to a motor vehicle collision on Yorke Line in Malahide Township.
A 30-year-old from Elgin County has been charged with the following Criminal Code offences:
- Flight from peace officer
- Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
- Assault-Spousal
- Possession of over 30g dried cannabis in a public place (Cannabis Act)
The accused was held in custody and appeared for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in St. Thomas on Saturday, December 13, 2025.
The OPP will not release names to protect the identity of the victim(s).
