(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) - An individual has been charged in connection with a dangerous driving incident in Delhi.

At approximately 4:50 pm on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, the Norfolk County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a dispute on William Street in Delhi.

The investigation revealed that one of the individuals had been operating a motor vehicle on William Street when it left the roadway and veered toward two pedestrians. The driver then proceeded to utter verbal threats toward them.

As a result, the driver was taken into custody without incident.

45-year-old James MATTHEWS has been charged with the following alleged offences:

• Dangerous operation, - Uttering threats - cause death or bodily harm - two counts

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, June 24, 2025.
