(LANARK HIGHLANDS TWP, ON) - - The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an Ottawa resident with impaired driving.

Officers responded to vehicle in the ditch on Highway 7 at Fergusons Falls Road, in Lanark Highlands Township on Sunday, September 28, 2025, just before 9:00 pm

The officers located the vehicle, arrested the driver and transported the individual to the OPP Detachment in Carleton Place for testing.

As a result of the investigation, Joshua MCLAUGHLIN, 54-years-old, of Ottawa, has been charged with:

• Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
• Operation while impaired - alcohol

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on Monday October 27, 2025.

The individual’s driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days (Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
