(CARLETON PLACE, ON) - - The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Mississippi Mills Township resident with impaired driving.
Officers conducted a traffic stop on Highway 7, in Carleton Place on Saturday, August 2, 2025, just before 5:00 pm after receiving a complaint of a possible impaired driver.
The officers arrested the driver and transported the individual to the OPP Detachment in Carleton Place for testing.
As a result of the investigation, Tarmara CHAMBERS, 58-years-old, has been charged with:
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Operation while impaired - alcohol
- Drive motor vehicle with open container of alcohol
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on Monday, September 8, 2025.
The individual’s driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days (Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
