(BANCROFT, ON) - Members of the Bancroft Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested one person with multiple charges after resisting arrest when being approached by police on an outstanding warrant.
On Sunday, September 7, 2025, shortly after 9:30 am, officers recognized a wanted person in the Town of Bancroft. When officers approached, the wanted party resisted arrest causing minor injuries to the officer. Once transported to the Bancroft OPP detachment the accused threatened police officers while being lodged into the police cells.
Daniel SARGINSON, 40, of Bancroft has been charged with the following:
- Resist peace officer - 2 counts
- Fail to comply with probation order
- Uttering threats - 3 counts
The accused was held for bail and remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on September 11, 2025.
